During the first ten years of his reign Wenger was known for making his team turn out in big games but the last decade have been awful.
Wenger has been told to resign by fans and even club legends who claim he is no longer taking the club forward.
Here are seven defeats, arsenal fans would not want to remember anytime soon;
1. Man Utd 8 – 2 arsenal, Premier League, 2011
In the summer of 2011, arsenal lost Samir Nasri and Cesc Fabregas and Wenger responded by promoting a host of youngsters including a certain Francis Coquelin.
Though the Frenchman fared well in the match and was the Gunners best player aside Robin Van Persie, Carl Jekinson did not as he shown a second half red card.
Wenger responded by signing Per Metersacker, Mikel Arteta and Andre Santos on transfer deadline day. The signings helped arsenal as they all had experience.
In hat was Wenger’s 1000th game in charge of arsenal, he faced off against rival Jose Mourinho who utterly embarrassed him. Kieran Gibbs was wrongfully shown a red card for a hand ball when in fact it was committed by Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.
After the match, Wenger did not turn up for his post-match conference for the first time in his 17-years in charge of arsenal.
3. Tottenham 5 – 1 arsenal, league semi-final, 2008
Spurs went on to win the League Cup in 2008 but the semi-final was utterly shameful. Bendtner threatened to fight with Emmanuel Adebayor and William Gallas. The match was the first time Spurs has beat arsenal in nine years.

A most recent defeat. Bayern have beaten arsenal 5 – 1 three times but the most defeat was most damaging as the Gunners lost 10 – 2 on aggregate. After the match, fans led a #WengerOut protest.
5. Man Utd 6 – 1 arsenal, Premier League, 2001
In this match in 2001, Wenger saw his side trail 5 – 1 at half-time thanks to Dwight Yorke’s hat-trick. Before the match, Wenger said: “Manchester United haven’t done anything special this season.”
6. arsenal 1 – Birmingham 2, League Cup final, 2011
Everyone remembers this final as Obafemi Martins scored the winner in the 89th minute after a defensive mix-up. arsenal were overwhelming favorites but mentality was frail. arsenal would win the FA Cup two years later but fans still believe this trophy should have been theirs.
7. Bradford 1 – 1 arsenal, (Bradford win 3 – 2 on pen), league Cup quarter-final, 2012
arsenal did play well in this match but when you lose to a team in the third tier of the football pyramid when you are arsenal, it is utterly shameful.
